I got hurt wrestling and got "stacked"  basically my neck got compressed.  When I first got it checked i assumed all my pain was just muscles being tight, they Xray my neck and nothing was broken.  I got some noninflammatory pills and some pain killers...my neck is still sore, but I have this sharp pain in my upper arm between my shoulder and elbow that hurts even with the pain killers...could it be more than just muscle strain?  if yes what else could it be?

Answer
I would consider the possibility of a pinched nerve in the neck as the cause of the arm pain.  The nerves from the neck control movement and sensation in the upper body including the arms.  

After checking back with your primary doctor and discussing the pain, you might want to check with a chiropractor or a massage therapist.
