QuestionQUESTION: "3mm posterolisthesis C5 on C6. Most likely traumatic in nature.
ANSWER: I'm unsure of your questions. If your question is could trauma be the cause of a posterolisthesis of C5/6, yes. But it could also be caused by everyday trauma such as sitting at a computer all day, playing with kids, gardening and other house work. I don't know your history, was there an accident?, your age?, your daily activities?. These are all questions that need answered before an actual diagnosis can be made.

QUESTION: Sorry, I was not so specific. The above is what the MRI showed, however, I am not certain what it means. No actual trauma, however much of what you outlined, gardening, children, etc. Age62. Not sure what the long term is or what to pursue as a treatment if any. Thank you for your time
AnswerI would start with chiropractic. I treat many patients with posterolistheis' and it is something that medical doctors do not treat, they just give you pain meds and muscle relaxers and send you to Physical Therapy which rarely work. If you are interested in chiropractic, go to www.sorsi.com to locate a doctor near you. I am a member of this group and we use gentle techniques to treat such problems. Good Luck.
