Hi I am wondering if I have a simple fusion for l5-s1 area will I be able to go
back to work. I work in the oil feid offshore alot or on shore with very
demanding work. Should I think of a career change?

Your career is fine, the method by which you approach your low back treatment options is not.
Surgery is only indicated in a small percentage of low back problems.
Do you have MRI results? There is a solid cure for 95% of low back pain caused by mechanical causes. Not knowing what is wrong with you makes it impossible for me to recommend or advise you accordingly. Please let me know what you have and I will be happy to help.
