Paralysis further to Epidural

Question
My father recently underwent surgery for an enlarged aorta.  Further to 6
hours surgery he was rushed back in to emergency to perform a bypass on
his legs due to blood flood issues.  Further to this surgery he has had a
number of small ops that I dont have the details of but on one he was given
an epidural.  Now he is suffering paralysis in his right leg.  The doctors have
given him an MRI scan but can find no nerve damage.  He has no feeling in
his leg and no movement.  Im at a loss as to what to ask the doctors to do
and they are next to useless.  Their answer is 'lets wait a few months and see
what happens'.  Can you help?

Answer
I can not give an exact answer, and I don't know exactly where the surgeries where performed on your fathers body, but if he has NO feeling and NO movement, that tells me that somehow a nerve was severed completely.  I would ask the doctors about that.  Beyond that I don't know what else to say.
