i had a quad bike accident in Egypt in June 2006, intially the Egypt doctor advised me to wear a brace for 6 months however when i returned to London after a week, the doctor said i did not need a brace and i was not even referred to a specialist.

But then after severe pain, i was referred to a specialist after 6 months, who said my fracture has moved. i think it is because i was not wearing a brace initially after my fracture.

is it a normal procedure for someone to wear a brace after a L2 fracture.

Hi,

It depends on the fracture, many are unstable and require bracing, many don't. If it slipped, then it required a brace so the doctor that told you to take it off screwed up. Get it repositioned ASAP before it heals permanetly and wear the brace until it's stable.
