I have had extensive massage and been to the chiropractor the knot in the muscle hurts all the time, when I lower my chin to my chest I get a pain in my upper spine.I also have numbness in my right arm at times. Any ideas?

You might have a pinched nerve in your neck (possibly from a disc bulge or herniation). "Knots" in your muscles typically do not cause any numbness anywhere else in your body. Numbness is a neurological (nerve) problem so I suggest you get further evaluation done before continuing to get massage and chiropractic care. An MRI would also be appropriate.
