QuestionHow do I know if I have ligament damage in my neck? And will it heal on its
own. Thanks
AnswerOnly way to be sure is to have an MRI or other advanced imaging done. X-rays won't show anything but the bones in your neck. It may however, show altered alignment if you injured the ligaments in you neck. Ligaments generally have poor healing properties if the damage is significant, but minor injuries should recover with adequate rest. Manual therapies like myofascial release, Active Release Techniques, cross friction massage and Graston Techniques can also help with recovery.
