QuestionDr, My name is Michelle. My question to you, is I have been having pain in my forearms. I thought it may be my heart. But, I did go to the Doctors & Hospital to rule that out. My Doctor thinks it is coming from my neck, shoulders, & back. I excersized for years. Recently I stopped because my Dad has been very sick. So, I am taking care of him. The pain comes and goes. Right now I have it. It's like an ache. My fingers get very Stiff. And of course my neck, shoulders & lower back bother me. I do get light headed feeling. Please let me know what is the best thing to do. Thanks Michelle
AnswerDear Michelle,
Since you have had medical attention, I surmise that what you have is not a medical problem.
You probably have very tight muscles in your forearms or nerve impingements of the nerves of the arms as they pass through your neck and shoulder area. The lightheaded feeling implies neck tension.
Please visit the website, somatics.com, and read the articles that pertain to pain, whiplash injuries, and back pain at somatics.com/page4.htm.
That will get you started on what I expect to be a fruitful course of action.
