Question
Hello, I was recently assaulted by  a 300 pound man. His knees were in my
chest  while he strangled my with all of his force until I lost consciousness. I
was also hit with a metal table and punched in the jaw and chest. I received a
radiology report with some findings, but I don't fully agree with them. I
wanted to share the photos of my x-rays and photos with skin from my outer
chest. I am hoping to get an opinion of what you see in them. The
information is valuable to me because I can decide whether or not to seek
more opinions from doctors in my own town.

Thank you, Raechel

Answer
Raechel,
From the sound of this and from the pictures and X-Rays that you have sent over to me, I certainly would suggest that you seek out the help of a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Medical Doctor.  It is somewhat difficult to tell from one set of films over the internet without an actual patient in front of me, what misalignments or injuries are certainly due to the attack.  Any swelling shown on the skin and even on the xray would be a much easier connection to make.

I will say that I see a Scoliosis in the spine on the A-P xray although this is usually something that develops over time and therefore you probably had it before.  From the lateral view I could notice the Atlas or C1 vertebra has an inferior atlas lateral angle, and the Cervical curve displays a kyphotic curvature where a lordosis would be ideal. I also notice what appears to be an right misaligned C2 or Axis Vertebra (the spinous process of C2 is grossly twisted over to the right).  If I had to guess I would say that the Atlas or C1 vertebra has also shifted to the right.

Being an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor, I know the value of having a properly aligned Upper Cervical Spine compared to the detriment of having a misaligned UC Spine. Regardless of whatever ends up happening with your situation, you NEED to get an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor of Chiropractic right away.

If you would like a referral from me, just send me your town and state/country so that I may get to work on that for you.

I wish you the best in your recovery and look forward to your response.
