Question
Last year, August 3rd, 2007, my mother, my cousin, and I were in a car accident, where we were rear ended from behind. WE went to our chiropractor, who told us my cousin and I were fine.  My mother however suffered a concussion and whiplash even though airbags did not deploy and her head did not contact the steering wheel.  She was on pain medications for a while and chiropractic care was doing some to relieve her pain. However the headaches still persist, located in the back of her head.  Craning her neck upward for long periods which does not cause neck pain forces her headaches to return as do loud booming sounds like that in a movie theater.  An MRI, CAT Scan and X-Ray showed nothing after the car accident. An MRI with and without contrast performed 2 days ago showed nothing. However our doctors, the lawyer we hired for the accident and the chiropractor believe that she is faking these headaches and after medical payments the settlement from the accident provides us very little.
The question I'm asking is this.  We would like to see the headaches go away and chiropractic care was helping immensely but more importantly we would like to know how to prove that she is not making this all up.

Answer
Dear Thomas,

How can we prove what another is feeling??

Your mother's best option is to get the headaches cleared up.

I suggest you (and she) read the article on headaches at somatics.com/page4.htm; she fits the profile of tension headaches.

Also read the article on whiplash injuries.
