QuestionMy day was extremely stressful. I received a poor interim in school, i am failing chemistry and I had a big chemistry test that day. During the test I began to struggle a bit and i cracked my neck the hardest I've ever cracked it in my life. It was extremely loud and even pleasant at first. Then out of nowhere, i began experiencing extreme discomfort and pain in the lower neck and shoulder. It didn't seem to be going away and as a matter of fact it still hurts when i begin to move(i posted this approximately 10 hours after the injury) . I'm curious if anyone could explain what may have happened and what i do to treat this.
AnswerSteve,
The first thing that you do is NEVER do that again EVER! There is a network of nerves, arteries, and veins in your neck that are vital to proper function. You could be seriously jeopardizing your health by manipulating that area without being a trained expert.
You will need to go to a specialist that can re-set the upper spine and then you will need to leave it alone so that it can heal properly and be seated properly.
Send me your town and state so I can find someone that can help you get back on track.
Health Holidays,
Dr Arnone
