Question
i have a long standing back problem.

the muscles i think are the pain producers but actually not the real problem. the pain is just a symptom.

anyways i have a great results in using a bamboo pole

pushing thru the abdomine to find the psoas TrP.

i use a towel in between as not to damage the skin.

but can get into an incredible amounts of reffered pain

when i push very hard

usually around the illacus and also down around the it- band.

that is on my worst right side.

the left side only refered pain around the tfl i think it would be.

i have quie a bit helped my back problem as i strongly bet

that many peoples back problems are caused or greatly made

much worse from chronic tight psoas and illacus and then the ql muscles.

anyways i have noticed thou as i am normally pushing into

the abdomine around 3 inches out from the belly button

under the rectus to hit the psoas. BUT not always but many

times if come a bit closer in to the belly button

say only 1/2 inch more while

still under the rectus and change the angle from the usually

the diaganol to much more lateral that i can get strong refered

pain on that same right side just above the crest of the

illium of the back.

is that the same psoas muscle referring pain to there as

well? or have i hit into another muscle perhaps the ql

trigger point? i did think the ql can refer pain there but

i have never thought it was able to get it thru the
ambdomine?

just which muscle in this position has this TrP pattern of refered pain?

thanking you in advance.

Answer
I don't think sticking a bamboo pole 3 inches into your abdominal area is a solution to your problem.
Have you thought of seeking a Physical therapist or a Chiropractor, Massage therapist?
Sometimes trying to fix things yourself isn't always the best course of action.
Look up the "Graston techniquea' it really helped me when I had a similar problem, but someone has to do it you.....
Good Luck.
