QuestionI have been having severe urinary symptoms for the last month... frequency, urgency, and some incontinence. It started a few years ago with just some dribbling... but suddenly got very bad.
At the same time, I have been having terrible sharp pains in my left heel when I stand. It goes away after walking around for a bit.
I thought the two conditions unrelated (who could your heel be related to your bladder, after all???)
But then an MRI showed "minimal retrolisthesis" in L5S1... I started reading up and found out that L5 can affect bladder control and that S1 can relate to foot pain.
Could both of these conditions be related to the L5S1 issue in my back?
The urologist looked at the MRI and report and did not even raise the possibility. Did not even comment on the alignment issue with the disc.
Please help I am going nuts!! And I don't want to be on Detrol or Vesicare or some other med for the rest of my life... especially if I don't need it!
AnswerI would visit a Chiropractor for a conservative trial.
If you are having pain in your heel this can be due to pressure on a spinal nerve that supplies the heel.
Nerves also supply the bladder and other vital organs in that area.
If you have a spinal misalignment a Chiropractor may be able to help you with your problem.
Good luck.
