QuestionI have disc bulges at L4-5 and L3-4 impinging on the thecal sac with bilateral posterior neural foraminal narrowing.
anterior disc bulges at L2-3 L3-4 L4-5
c3-4 bulging with bilateral posterior neural foraminal narrowing.
disc bulge at c7-t1 and t1-2 impinging the thecal sac.
Can you tell me what this means and how it's treated. I am in good deal of pain and seam to be getting worse.
AnswerHi Paul,
Your MRI findings show that you have disc bulges in your neck and low back that are pressing on the nerves that are coming from your spinal cord. This can lead to pain in your neck and low back and may also cause pain/numbness/tingling/weakness into your arms and legs.
The first line of treatment is conservative (non-surgical) therapy which may include pain control modalities, exercises, mobilizations, laser and/or muscle release therapy. If symptoms have not improved after 6 months, your doctor may discuss surgical options with you.
I hope this helps!
