QuestionMRI Findings: Lumbar L5-S1= Trivial Disk Bulge. No spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. L4-L5= Minimal Disk Bulge, with a tiny broad bases left paracentral disk protrusion. No significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. L3-4= Mild disk bulge. No significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis. L2-3=Normal L1-2=Normal.
Impression= Mild degenerative disk disease changes @ L3-4 through L5-S1, without significant spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.
Lumbar X-ray= AP and lateral views of the lumbosacral spine show a limbus vertebra of L4, with and unfused ossification center located in the anterior aspect of the vertebral body. The vertebral body height and disc space are maintained. The alignment is normal.
C-Spine MRI Results= Bony Elements: Tiny Osteophytes are present @ C4-5, C5-6 otherwise bone marrow signal is normal. C2-3 Normal, C3-4 Normal. C4-5 Minimal disk desiccation, Disk bulge is seen. C5-6 Mild disk desiccation, mild diffuse disk bulge is seen. A tiny right neural foraminal disk protrusion is present. Neural foraminal narrowing noted on the right. Minimal neural foraminal narrowing also noted on the left. C6-7 Minimal disk desiccation and disk bulge is present. Tiny neural foraminal narrowing is seen. Minimal neural foraminal narrowing noted On the left due to a tiny left neural foraminal disk protrusion. C7-T1 normal.
Can you please explain the findings and tell me what my options are? I am meeting with a spine specialist March 2nd, but I would like to know what I am facing. Could my injuries be treated with exercise? While I am in a lot of pain, I can't help but tell myself it isn't bad, that I just need to work harder.
AnswerWorking on your Core muscles would be a good idea.
You have some degenerative changes in your spine and disc area.
Have you heard of spinal decompression therapy, this might be a good treatment for you.
I am sure that their is a chiropractor close by that offers this technique.
