Answer
Dear Laine,

You need to go to a chiropractor and have this examined.  I hate to sound petty, but medical doctors are no good at this soft tissue injury stuff. Even research conducted at medical schools has proven this time after time...medical doctors excell at pathology, serious trauma, and sickness based care but they mostly get no education on the proper examination and diagnosis of musculoskeletal related injuries or dysfunction.  This is where the chiropractic profession truly shines.

The fact that this has been progressive for years and your medical team cannot find any problems only proves my point.  I would suggest that you find a local chiropractic physician who had some training in sports injury and schedule a consultation or an appointment.  The reason I say a sports injury trained chiropractor is that they are even more advanced in their diagnostic and treatment abilities relating to muscle injury, and radicular (radiating) pain.  This is because most sports programs focus on these types of injury and getting the patient back into functional action asap.

I would first check out the website of the American Chiropractic Board of Sport Physicians.  www.acbsp.com  If you cannot find a certified doctor close to you, then check out local web-pages as well as the yellow pages for doctors who treat primarily sports related injuries in their practices.  If you still cannot find one, ask family, friends, or a local personal trainer about chiropractors they have visited and trust.  Then make the call.

Respectfully,
