QuestionHi,
Last february I was in a car accident, hit in the side by a truck going 65. I had a Traumatic Brain Injury and a C2 fracture. I was in the rehabilitation part of the hospital for 3 months recovering. I see double ( my 3rd cranial destroyed ) my long term memory, it's not the best and my neck has healed up, although 2 mm off. So I'm very glad to be here, but some days in serious pain. My neck, shoulders, head. I am trying to get a few different opinions and suggestions on how to feel better. I saw you mentioned something about nutrition for immflamation and repair. Is this something I could do? I take advil and use a heating pad now. Are there other things you think might help?? I would appreciate it!!

AnswerDear Cathy,
Working on your diet to promote less inflammation and pain is absolutely something you can do, however, it does have it's limitations. Specific supplementation can also lower systemic inflammation levels which will help reduce pain as well. With the severe trauma you have sustained, I do not think it will eliminate the pain, but can be helpful in modification. And if you can reduce the amount of ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) you are ingesting, this will greatly reduce your chance of gastrointestinal damage and distress.
Listen, e-mail me personally through my website, and I will send you multiple documents to read so that you can formulate a eating plan and decide which direction you would like to go considering supplementation. The information has too much wording and documentation for this forum.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Respectfully,
