QuestionI had an accident about 2 years ago in an elevator falling several floors. I have a disc herniation at c5/c6, and 5 others in the upper thoracic spine starting at T2/3 3/4 4/5 5/6 6/7.
I think there may be some relationship to the stomach ailments of heartburn and general feeling of queasiness when my t-discs are in "spasm" or in a state of flare up.
Is there a relationship between the two?
It seems that when I can actually GET my stomach to calm down the spine seems to not be as painful, and vice versa. But that doesn't happen very often.
Any suggestions as well as to what to do? Calm the stomach first to settle the back, or the back to settle the stomach?

There is certainly a relationship as the nerves that control the stomach exit the spine in the thoracic area. This is how doctors of chiropractic are able to help so many people with health problems other than back or neck pain and headaches. If the nerves are impinged by a bone out of place then the area supplied by that nerve suffers and malfunctions. The only way to have this heal up properly is to have the cause corrected.
