QuestionI was t-boned in December, diagnosed with whiplash, after physiotherapy was discharged with limited movement unable to return to my job. Will this ever improve? I am on part time duties only due to being unable to sit up for much more than four hours. (neck instability)
AnswerDiane;
I see tons of patients like you who through no fault of their own, cannot function after an accident. Were you diagnosed with INSTABILITY? It has a specific medical meaning... usually surgery. It can only be diagnosed with motion or stress films (end range of motion images), and most PT's don't do this.
HAve you gone to a chiropractor for their take on this? There are a couple of places that certify whether the doc is a specialist in this, one is the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, www.srisd.com, I think. It will have a list of providers in your area, or hopefully that will be a good place to start to look for a referral.
Auto insurance covers you for treatment to get back to your pre-injury status, meaning, you should do this, as there will be no out of pocket expense for you as well.
If you are in Seattle, look ME up. The website address is www.dynamicclinic.com.
Hope this answer helps.
