QuestionHi,
Yesterday while I was doing a reverse cable fly, I felt a a popping sound followed by extreme pain in my neck and upper trapezoid area. 48 hours later, the pain has not subsided and remains from middle of my neck through my upper trap to my shoulder. I can barely turn my head or lift my arm and am barely able to move at all. I'm surviving on Tylenol 3.
Is this more than a strained muscle?
AnswerFrank,
Sounds like a neck spasm with vertebral displacement and nerve impingement.
Please see my piece on neck injuries at http://www.somatics.com/whiplash.htm

That should clarify things and give you an option for recovery.
