QuestionI was very resently in a car accident & was told I have a back strain, a couple of days ago I started developing dizziness along with the back pain. Is this normal or should I go in to see my Dr.?
AnswerKathy;
We should talk about this: Dizziness is really how our brains relay to us that something in our balance system(s) is / are "off". Balance really comes from three places: ears, eyes, and body. Usually it's the body after an accident. The small muscles at the base of your head relay information in three dimensions as to where you are, when that information is different from what the ears or eyes tell us, we get dizzy. The dizziness lasts typically as long as the dysrelationship lasts, or the injury exists.
Often in these expert forums, the expert is really trying to drum up business. Somehow I'd bet you aren't in Seattle, but if you were I would recommend that you come see me, a chiropractor. Since you probably aren't, I'd recommend going to the SRISD.com website; it's a list of chiropractors who are certified to treat auto accident injuries. I would start there, and if you can't find someone to help, look for a Palmer graduate.
Should you need anything else, please feel free to contact me via my website, www.dynamicclinic.com !
Hopefully, you'll take this advice and run with it... we get great resultswith this kind of injury here.
