QuestionWill the posture pump reverse the curve in your neck and how long will it take to do, if I use the pump every day
AnswerHello, Lisa,
You can't rely on a posture pump to change the curve in your neck.
"The curve in your neck" isn't a curve in your neck; it's muscular tension in your neck, controlled by your brain as a conditioning or learned pattern of movement and position.
To change the curve of your neck, you have to change that conditioning by changing your control pattern of those muscles, a result of adaptation (learning), not only of manipulation by external factors.
May I direct you to a couple of write-ups that address the subject

Two points:
* Devices of any kind only interact with our conditioning, but cannot change it in any reliable way because we tend to maintain and return to our habitual conditioning. It's as true of posture pumps as it is for orthotics or eyeglasses.
* "What will happen?" type questions (such as, "How long will it take?") can be answered only the context of the situation. No one is very good at predicting the future -- not doctors, not economists, not meteorologists, not scientists. An educated guess is the best that's possible, and that only if substantial information is available on surrounding conditions. My predictions about outcomes rely on my having done a full functional assessment of a person, including their history.
How long does it take to change a habit? See what I mean?

Lawrence
