hi im a 45 year old male who had a motorcycle accident last year.as a result of this i received two slightly crushed vertabrae called wedge fractures.the thing is im in so much pain i think their is more damage than the xrays show up.can i insist on a cat scan or mri scan.

Yes, absolutely. Keep in mind that wedge fractures can be very painful, and you may need to have a procedure known as a kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty done to minimize your pain. Further imaging can certainly rule out damage to other areas of anatomy that may need to be addressed as well. I think an MRI would certainly be appropriate.
