QuestionA couple nights ago I was sitting in an uncomfortable position which required my neck to be a little sore. When I woke up this morning I had an extreme pain on the right side of my neck. I can feel it when my neck is not moving and in a straight position but when I move my head it hurts and if I move it looking slightly up/down it hurts worst. The pain has died down a little since I woke up but it is still bad. I am pretty sure it is a pulled muscle but I Do not know how to treat it/ make it bearable. Please help me!
AnswerHello Brandon,
Very sorry to hear about your neck. It sounds like you have some tight muscle tissue that needs to be released so your neck can have the space and freedom it requires to work in a pain free manner. The good news is that you can probably fix your neck all by yourself.
If you think of all your muscles like the rigging on a big old sailboat, where all the ropes (muscles) are pulling on each other to hold everything in a certain place then you can understand that releasing certain inappropriately tight muscle tissue is key to letting everything get back in the right position and thereby get you out of pain. Bones are chunks of calcium, they only go where muscles pull or hold them. Bones don't do anything on there own, so releasing the muscles is the key.
I show you how to do this, all for free, on my website. If you will just follow along with the videos you'll most likely be able to fix yourself. Here is the page for "neck pain relief":

If you would like some background on why what you will be doing actually works, then start on the homepage where I explain in more detail some of the concepts above:

You can do it. Just follow the videos.
I do hope this helps.
