Question
My question is July 24, 2011 I had a high speed rollover accident that had prolong extercation. I had a GCS of 5 when pulled from the vehicle and only spontanious respirations. I was airlifted to our local traum centered and ventilated for 3 days. In this accident i suffered a left skull compression fracture, a hemotoma in my right eye, C1 arch fracture, type III odontoid fracture, right vertrebal artery injury, grade II a/c joint seperation, T2/T3 fracture of the tranverse plane and multiple end plate fractures. Along with both first, second rib fractures and a displaced 5th rib fracture. I suffer from left hand numbness, burning in my spine between my shoulder blades along with pain in my spine. Frequent headaches. I have one doctor who tells me I can work and another who tells me no way. I have such tremendous pain with no relief. Sometimes I feel like the doctors here dont want to listen. I did have a MRI of my neck and was told it looked fine. Could I have severe nerve damage that is causing my pain and discomfort? And also sometimes i get a warm sensation in my back and it literally feels like someone has thrown hot water on me, but theirs nothing their... All i keep hearing is give your body time to heal and it will feel better over time. What is your opinion is their any help for me. Should I get second opinions. I had no surgery due to the fact I collapsed both lungs and had multiple pnuemothoraxes.

Answer
Hello,

Wow, sorry to hear about all you've been through.  But I do think there are many things to do that can help you get out of pain.

I'm primarily saying this because you said, "I did have a MRI of my neck and was told it looked fine."  Because you stated this I think you probably have a great deal of tight tissue around your spine and ribs that is now causing your pain.  Originally, after your body was traumatized it tightened up to protect you, but now it just needs some help letting go. When it let's go the bones and nerves will no longer be negatively affected by the tight tissue and you should be out of pain.

Many doctors will look at the x-rays and MRI's of patients like you and say "nothing is wrong,"   but that doesn't mean that there isn't a whole bunch of  soft tissue in your body that "isn't right." When you fix all the things that "aren't right" most of the time what is wrong will go away.

Just so you understand a bit of what needs to be done.  If you think of all those inappropriately tight muscles attached to your spine like they were the rigging (ropes) on a bit old sailboat, you can see that when certain pieces of rigging (muscles) are too tight they will pull things like bones and nerves out of position and cause you pain. Bones are chunks of calcium, they only go where the muscles pull or hold them.

Okay, so you need to learn how to free the inappropriately tight tissue that is causing your problem.  The GOOD NEWS is that I show you how to do this all by yourself on my website, http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/ , and it's all FREE.  This homepage explains in greater detail what I just described above.

Next I would probably go to the Upper Back Pain Relief page,
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/upper-back-pain-relief.html
and then the Neck Pain Relief Page,
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/neck-pain-relief.html

But I'm not sure how much mobility you have, so do whatever you can on any of the pages, and as you free up one area other areas will also become more free.  Think of it like peeling an onion.  You may have to go round and round for a bit before everything lets go.

To see all the choices you have for videos on how to fix yourself, you may want to visit the Site Map page where every single page on the website is listed for you to see.
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/joint-pain-relief-site-map.html

I do hope this helps.  Just follow along with the videos and I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
You can do it!

All the best,
Gary Crowley
