QuestionHi,
I am suffering with dizziness from past two years.
all tests have been done like they tested for BP, Diabetics, Hemoglobin, MRI of brain, ECG , Vitamin B 12 etc.
all came up normal and my physician says even the ears are fine.
they asked me to get a CT scan done for cervical spine.
it showed reversal of cervical lordosis.
and they advised to take an MRI.
my question is the reversal of cervical lordosis is the cause of my dizziness?
please answer.
AnswerHello Roopa,
Sorry to hear about your dizziness. It is very difficult thing to suffer with for so long.
I have 5 questions/comments for you.
First, it could be the curve in your neck, but I doubt it. But just to make sure you might want to have someone give you a good neck massage and see if that makes a difference in your dizziness.
Second, you could have an ongoing inner ear infection. 2 years is a long time to have one, but if that's what you have then you need to take the right antibiotic to knock out the infection and then your dizziness will go away.
Third, is your dizziness "positional." As in, does it only happen in certain positions? If the answer is, yes. Then you can do something called the "Epley Maneuver" to fix it. It's for something called BPPV. Here is a video on YouTube that will show you how to do it. There are also many others to choose from on YouTube if you desire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QikUTAmeE0M
Basically, this series of head positions allows the little particles in your ear canal to drop back into the place where they belong, so they will no cause your dizziness.
Fourth, sometimes your jaw being extremely tight can affect you inner ear. So here is a page that will show you how to release your jaw to see if that will help. Just follow along with the videos:

Fifth, is it possible you've been extremely dehydrated for 2 years? If yes, that could be the cause. You should really rehydrate (drink lots of water) for a couple of weeks and see if that makes a difference. Being thirsty, is not a way to tell if you're dehydrated. In extreme cases you may even want to get an I.V. to rapidly rehydrate. Here's some info from the Mayo Clinic on dehydration symptoms:

I would hope one of these 5 things is the cause and the information I've given will help you overcome your dizziness.
I do wish you the best,
Gary Crowley
