Question
Hello Karen-  Is there a drug that works like Vioxx?  Vioxx is so darned expensive, I'm hoping there's a cheaper alternative drug.

Dear Earl,  There is a generic brand of Vioxx and you can call your pharmacist and he/she will tell you what the cost of that drug would be....  The generic is called Rofecoxib..
While you are on the phone with the pharmacist ask him/her about other drugs that do the same thing as Vioxx that are less expensive....  They will tell you when a lot of doctors will not, because pharmacists do not get kick-backs from the drug companies like doctors often do....
