QuestionHello,
I am 25 years old and for several years I have been hearing a clicking on occasion in one of my hips as I would walk up stairs or hills. Now, both of them click and quite loudly. Up until recently I had no pain despite the noise. Then I got a brief but distinct shooting pain in my right hip joint area. I could not put any weight on it for several minutes and then I was fine.
I don't really know what to make of it. As a young adult out of college, I don't have health insurance and probably won't for several years. I am worried that this is a problem that could affect the way I move later in life though and would like to know how serious this sounds.
I looked up information on CONGENITAL HIP dysplsia and I know this problem didn't begin until just a few years ago.
I am not over or underweight and I am not incredibly physically active. I do have a workout program (Tae Bo) that I do at least 2-3 times a week.
Please give me your opinion, it's greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
AnswerMisty,
Some people have looser joints than others and this can cause a clicking noise. If there is not regular pain with it then it may not be a problem. Still it is best to have it check out. I understand that insurance is a problem and with the X-rays that would be needed it will not be an inexpensive visit. It would be best to find a job with insurance benefits. Even with out considering this, you never know when you might need health care.
I wish you the best,
Rusty
