QuestionI have osteoarthritis in my knees and was diagnosed when I was 17, I am 44 now. I have leaarned to live with it, just don't do things like I used to. Iam an ex-bartender and waitress. I am now a mail carrier. My question has to do with carpal tunnel syndrome. I have it in both wrists. It gets bad in the winter when the mail volume get high. On my right wrist just behind my thumb I got a bump a year or two ago, it gets sensitive when dealing with heavy mail in winter not so bad in summer. Recently the one bump has turned into 3. Is this associated with carpal tunnel?
AnswerDear Suzanne, I am not an expert on carpal tunnel syndrome, but I would suggest that it sounds like it is time to see an orthopedic specialist or your rheumatologist.... This way you can get a proper diagnosis...
Carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis are two separate intities.
thank you, karen
