QuestionFor the past three months my wife has experienced severe pain in both feet that comes and goes. She will be fine and all of a sudden her feet will begin to pain so that she can not even stand a sheet touching them at night. The pain will stay at about a level 10 for four days then subside. She will be fine for two weeks and without warning it will start again. She was overweight, had Gastric Bypass surgury and lost 110 lbs. She still has about 100 lbs to go. Doctors have thought, kidney, Gout, RSD, and now neuropathy. She has gone for kidney scan, bone scan and will be going for a Nerve Conducting Study.
So for no one has an answer. What do you think?
AnswerDear Edward, Pain like this can be caused by back problems, neuropathy and in my case Diabetes.... Diabetes is one of the most common causes of pain like this and she and myself have the same type of pain and can't stand anything on our feet.. I also have a constant burning and numbness in my feet and shooting pains in the feet and toes.... I would definately have the doctors do a Glucose Tolerance test on your wife to check her for Diabetes... If that test is normal, then other things like back problems and neuropathy should be checked...
thank you, karen
