QuestionMy dad is 83 and just diagnosed with RA. He hasnt been able to get into the rheumatologist til oct. Will the dr be able to improve his quality of life? He has had heart failure but I believe that was due to the RA anemia. All his other doctors are just blowing it off, like he's just old. Thanks.
AnswerDear Holly, There are medications for RA, but whether they will improve his qualify of life or not is questionable.... You will have to wait will you see the rheumatologist and he/she does most testing and makes a precise diagnosis before knowing what treatments if any or even what physical therapy, if any, can be recommended...
thank you, karen
