Question
Hello I have numbness in my feet because of nerve damage in my lumbar disc. I was wondering I have had this numbness for over a year about now, and I was at therapy to help my back , my back is still bad I know it will take a while, but  on one of the excerises they had me step on a round   thing they put on the floor well anyways I got throught with thearapy went to the store to buy some things for home with fiance all of a sudden he was pulling the car up for the grocerys while I was standing there my ankles were burning me so bad, it stunned me, and today I had the air conditioner on and my ankles were aching,  .  My quesiton to you can I get arthritis in the ankles because of feet are numb and the ankles are doing more work.  Thank you so much for your time.             diana

I'm so sorry you're struggling with pain.  There are many reasons this could be happening.  The  only way to diagnose osteoarthritis (the kind we get as we age where the joint wears away) is with an x-ray.  There are also a lot of "soft tisse" problems, like tendonitis or muscle strain, that could be bothering you.  See your doc soon for proper diagnosis and treatment.  Hope you feel better soon!
