QuestionAs part of an in depth physical at the Mayo Clinic to determine the cause of
my year+ exhaustion, my CPK level came back out of range: 280, 305. Is
this a cause for concern? I don't know which kind of CPK level was tested. I
was a healthy, exercising person (although with controlled Hashimoto's for 13
+ years,) until this "crash set in last year. There is no easily identifiable
reason for this test result. I've been advised to wait a month and retest.
Comments? Thanks in advance, Julia
AnswerSounds like the retest is a good idea, since elevated CPK levels can occur in a lot of conditions. If you're still doing exercise, call and ask your doc how long in advance to stop exercising before the test. This can also be a cause of elevated CPK.
