Question
My 9 year old has been diagnosed with JRA........she is on Naprosyn twice/day.
She now is complaining of stomach pains/cramps.
She takes it with food and milk yet still has the problem.
Is there anything you may advise us to do?

Answer
Andrew,

I am sorry to hear about your daughters diagnosis and the complications she is having.

The answer is simple. Take her to see the doctor. Also ask to speak to the office nurse about stopping the Naprosyn until you see the doctor and for advice of what to do until then.

These symptoms can be a sign of a serious complication of Naprosyn.

If she does not see a Rheumatologist ask for a referral. JRA is best managed by a Rheumatologist not a GP.

I wish your daughter the best.
