Question
Age 37, Wt 160, Male
Last full workup 6 mo ago, no problems noted by tests.

My problem has been on going for several years. I have been seen by several orthopedist for severe pain in rt wrist, left and right upper back, rt foot, lat pain, left elbow pain. I have had several mri's performed. Most return showing generalized inflammation. The only proscribed treatment is usually cortisone shots. Now I am experiencing cramping in lower legs, waking up middle of the night pain from "pulling" muscles when yawing. I had thought that I was excercising poorly, but I stopped most every form except walking for over 8 mo. Is there something else going on?

Answer
Casey,

The cramping in your legs is probably not associated with the inflammation in your joints. There are several things it could be. Cramping in your legs as you get older is a common problem. You need a doctor see a doctor to get a diagnosis. I hope after 8 months you have already seen one and started the process. If not then you need to do so ASAP as some of the things is could be are serious. More often than not this is caused by some type of circulation problem. But their are several other things that can cause cramping.

I hope you have seen a Rheumatologist for for the joint conditions. An orthopedist is good for treating individualized joint pain but with this many joint pains it is good to rule out any type of autoimmune disease.

I wish you well
