Questioncould you please explain to me the following medical report as my symptoms are many but doctor says prolem not bad enough to cause symptoms.
CERVICAL SPINE- the spine is slightly tilted to the right.the flexion is restricted.there is loss of normal cervical lordosis in neutral position consistant with muscle spasm. Disc spaces are normal. there is degenerative change in the facet joints. most marked in the lower cervical region. the odontoid peg is central and the atlanto-axial articulation is normal,no cervical rib is shown.
THORACIC SPINE- there is reversed S-shaped scoliosis of the thoracic spine. shallow schmorls nodes are present throughout the thoracic spine. there are changes of spondylosis anteriorly. vertebral body appendages are intact. no abnormal paraspinal or prevertebral soft tissue shadow is shown. early degenerative changes are noted in the facet joints.
LUMBOSACRAL SPINE- there is compensatory left sided scoliosis of the lumar spine and the lumbar lordosis is slightly exaggerated. disc spaces are within normal limits. there is spondylitic lipping anteriorly and there are degenerative changes in the facet joints no obvious pars defects are shown and there is no spondylolisthesis.
PELVIS- there is slight left sided pelvic tilt and the right iliac crest is aproximately 4mm higher than the left.no bony is shown.
so sorry this is so long but i have many aches and pains with no answers and was told i should seek counselling as my spine would not be causing my symptoms, all other medical tests prove negative.
hoping you can shed some light on this
kind regards

AnswerSally,
I am sorry but I am not a medical doctor, so I am not qualified to explain this diagnosis in detail.
I am not sure what your aches and pains. Nobody has a perfect spine. From what I have seen the information you shared does not seem to indicate serious enough spinal deviation to cause serious problems. That is not to say that some pain issues might appear from it.
One thing it is hard for some doctors to understand is that pain is real even if there is not apparent cause for it. I am like you; I have had serious pain issues since I went through chemotherapy. There are no apparent causes for my pain. Not anything that can be diagnosed.
If your pain issues are serious, and I assume since you are writing that they are, ask for a referral to a pain specialist or depending on exactly where your pains are to another appropriate specialist. Just because your problems are beyond your doctor抯 expertise dose not mean they are not real and are not diagnosable by someone with more expertise.
I wish you the best and hope you find solutions.
