QuestionI am Mita.I have got osteo-arthritis in my knee.i am 48 years old.My X-Ray repot says "There are degenerative osteoarthritic changes with diminished joint spaces in medical and patello-femoral compartments of both knee joints with mild medial subluxation of left knee and bilateral mild genu varus."
Besides my doctor told me that my legs instead of going outward has come inward. So the axis has got disbalanced. He suggested operation.Do you think that operating will help in anyway?
Right now I am taking several medicines---(1)LUBRIJOINT,(2)RISFOS(35mg),(3)INFLAPEN,(4)SHELCAL-50. Besides I am doing quadriceps excercises with weighted belt(500gm weight).I am also having warm fomentation and using VOLINI gel to massage my knee.Kindly help.
AnswerMita,
It is quite possible that surgery could help. I assume the doctor you are talking about is and orthopedic specialist. IF not then you will need to see on because they are the ones that do the surgery and the best to be able to determine it surgery will help. It the doctor who mentioned surgery is an orthopedic doctor then it is always advisable to get a second opinion.
I am sorry that I can not be of more help. This is really an orthopedic question. Here is a link to the orthopedic section of this site.
