Question
So is flexor tendinitis a form of arthritis?  I have it as a kind of chronic, recurrent sports injury in my feet.  Is there any hope somebody with this condition can continue to run at all, or is that just asking for trouble?

Answer
Becky,

It is not a form of arthritis. Arthritis is inflammation of a joint or joints. Tendentious is the inflammation of a tendon. The tendon is the part of a muscle that connects to a bone.

After a period of rest for the tendon so that it can heal you may want to talk to your doctor about physical therapy. A Physical therapist will enable to strengthen all the support muscles. This will take some of the pressure off the flexor tendon.

It should then be possible to work your way back up to a regular running routine.
