QUESTION: Dear Doctor Rusty Ford
I am a 61 years old male, in the year 2001 while crossing the road I got a jerk or a cramp in my right leg that I could not move further, immediately I saw a huge swelling around my right knee. A friend waiting for me on the other side of the road helped me in getting back home. I myself a homeopath took a remedy Aconite repeatedly the swelling and pain sub-sided in few hours. I thought I am all right but I encountered sharp pain at a point in upper end of the calf bone when climbing up-stairs. After a few months pain extended in the whole knee and also in the left leg.I visited number of allopaths including general practitioner, orthopaedics and rheumatologist they all
prescribed me anti inflammatory medicine and diagnosed me
osteo arthritis. I was administered both steroid and non-steroid anti inflammatory medicine but with the exception of temporary relief I felt no relief. Only one dose of Ponstan 500 mg is a medicine which relieves me of pain for several days say 10-15 days. Now I have no joint pains but I have immense muscular pain in both the legs but i have now sometime swelling of my both the ankles and leg during the day which subsides after a night bed rest. When I got this problem in the year 2000 I experienced loosening of my teeth and morning stiffness of my fingers in the process I lost three on my healthy teeth upto the year 2003. There is no more loosening of teeth but still I have stiffness of almost all the joints during sleep, stiffness of muscle of my both leg swelling of foot and ankle. One more thing which I have noticed during the last few months I during the perspiration have a lot of perspiration on my left temple as compared to right temple which is sometimes dry. Perspiration on all other parts is equal. I hope you will be able to help me out in getting relief from these problems
