QuestionAt night when asleep I get searing forearm pains which waken me and at its worse feels like my arms are going to burst, these have come and gone over the past 18 months. Increasingly I am also getting hand and tip of finger pain during the day as well as foot pain. It is not pins and needles but more a throbbing pain. The worst pain however is the unexpected shock like an electric shock from the back of my lower leg above the knee into the calf muscle. Any help greatly appreciated.
AnswerHi Robert,
Two things need to be ruled out, a pinched nerve or Raynauds disease. One is mechanical and the other is not. They are completely unrelated and require a physician to diagnose. Seeing a Chiropractor, Neurologist or Internist would be my choice, in that order. 18 months is way too long to go without having this looked at by a professional. I realize this can be expensive but $150 for an office visit, history and exam is definitely worth it. Don't delay further since doing so may increase the difficulty in resolving the problem.
Good Luck!
