QuestionI have been suffering with arthritis for at least ten years and have been in pain that long. I am a black female sixty years old. I have osteoarthritis of the lower back, and knees. I also have a roaming arthritis that will swell a joint for two weeks and go away, I have carpal tunnel but I really think it's arthritis because it comes and goes. I have muscle and pain at the joint connection but only when I move my arm or leg in a certain way at the hip and shoulder usually on the inner thigh or inner arm. I have a problem with a burning pain on the outside of my right leg than a cramping of this muscle that feels like my leg is breaking.
What the heck is going on, sometimes a pain med will last for two days and other days I feel like to move is torture. I have gotten so I don't think anyone can really diagnosis some things so I'm trying you.
AnswerIf everything else has been ruled out, I encourage you to talk to your doctor about fibromyalgia. It often has "traveling" pain, can cause unusual skin feelings, like burning or pins and needles, and the usual arthritis medications, anti-inflammatories, give only sporadic if any relief. But it is only after ruling out more serious possibilities that a doc can diagnose it and help you get the right treatment. Talk to her/him soon.
