Chest discomfort

Question
Hi, I am a 45 year old female. I have been having a tightness/discomfort in my chest for 2 months.  I have went to doctor and have had a EKG/Heart Monitor/Chest X-Ray/Lab work.  Was diagnosed with H-Pyloria and treated for that.  Discomfort did not go away.  Went to Gastro doctor and was given Gallbladder ultrasound and endoscopy (scope of esophagus and stomach).  Both of these came back normal and next the Gastro doctor suspected esophagus spasms and put me on Hyoscyamine to take 30 min before eating.  I have been taking this for 3 days with no signs of it being better.  When I bend over the discomfort is bad in my chest, it is tender and bruised feeling, by the end of the day pain has spread between my should blades.  My father had a similar problem when he was in his forties and went through test after test (heart, etc) before a doctor diagnosed him with inflammation in his chest wall and gave him steroid pack and naproxen.  This helped him tremendously.  Do you think I could have same problem?  I do have bursitis in my hip and was wondering if this could be related somehow?

Answer
Not sure if it could be related to bursitis in your hip, but I often have chest discomfort from fibromyalgia pain in the ribs and at the breastbone.  You should follow up with your doc and tell him the pressure/discomfort has not been relieved.  There is an inflammatory condition that could cause pain but your doctor would (and has started already) to rule out other causes.  I understand it's frustrating - hang in there with your doctor and work together to find an answer.
