Questioni am a SLE patient (9 years) and recently experiencing pins and needles in hands and feet and weakness throughout my body. recently had a blood test and told that i have a high level of CK what does this mean?
AnswerI know there's an unusual complication in scleroderma called polymyositis that causes an increase in the level of CK. Polymyositis is inflammation of the muscles. The major symptoms I know of are weakness in shoulders and hips; for instance, it's hard to stand up out of a chair unassisted. I don't know if this is a possibility in lupus. If you have test results then your doctor does. Call and ask for a follow up appointment.
