QuestionI am 42 and have been taking karate for 1 1/2 yrs. Last week we were sparring and I got kicked in the thigh muscle. It took me down hard. Now everytime I get up from a sitting position or laying position, it hurts like HELL. The pain goes straight down to my ankle. Everytime I move in bed to turn, I wake up with this throbbing pain. It's been a week now and it's not getting any better at all. Any idea how long this will continue? I'm not taking classes until it's healed. Right now I can't even stretch.

I am not a doctor, so I can't for sure say what's going on. The best thing you can do is have your doctor do some diagnostic exams, x rays, or an MRI to see what is happening.
It does not, however sound like a bone problem. But you need to have someone take some tests to see what the problem is so they can treat it.
