QuestionHi. This last Sunday,I dislocated my shoulder from a fall. This is my first dislocation. When I was in the ER, they told me that I had to see an orthopedic surgeon but also told me that I could go to back to work.I am a deli worker and a part time cake decorator. I am able to do most of the activities with one hand but after work, it feels like its burning and throbs. Is that normal??? Or should I be concerned? I take baer back and body for the pain and it seems to work...What I want to know is if it is absolutely necessary to see a surgeon or do I need to. The reason I ask this is because I don't have insurance to cover the visit.
Thank you for you time
AnswerDear Megan,
This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
If you dislocated your shoulder & it is still dislocated-even partially-you should follow up with a specialist. Find an osteopath-D.O.-who will know non-surgical & surgical techniques. Explain the situation up front to the office manager & see if they will accept your x-rays without a repeat.
If the office knows up front your situation, and they don't work with you-then seek another office.
Private practices or an osteopathic college would be your best bet
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
