Question
I fell & broke my hip-the doctor did not fix it right so I walk w/trendlenberg gait and need cane & walker--had several opions that says the mechanics are not there for me to walk right like I use to-one doctor says to go to a teaching hospital they would be more schooled on being able to do something different to fix the problem--I have alot of bone growth--I broke the greater trochanter and it slipped during operation and the front muscle is weak--one dr.said they probably have to cut tendons and reattach them so it is intricate--so is the teaching hospital my best bet or forget fixing it cause it could end up worse!!

Answer
Dear Pat,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
Seek a teaching university. Ask your doctor for a direct recommend-he/she would be more knowledgeable about what's around locally. That would have the greatest pool of experts. Another option is an orthopedic group that has more than one hip surgeon. If not comfortable with the opinion-seek a second

Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
