QuestionHow important is it to strengthen my thigh muscles prior to knee replacement surgery?
AnswerMost of the people I see after a knee replacement never do strengthening prior to it. Sometimes they are in too much pain other times they just don't do it. I still have very good results with these people.
Pre-surgery exercise has been shown to help speed up recovery and it may result in better outcomes.
So it is a good thing to do if you can tolerate it, however many people never do it and still have good outcomes.
