Question
i been diag ,with c5 c6 herniated disc went thru therapy still no help my neurologist, sent me to get ceribal cortizen injection ,but nothing then helped ,so he sent me to orthopidic spine specialist ,he looked at the prevous records, and  wondered why they gave my injection in wrong place now iam scheduald for sugery was just wondering, about what to do about giving the shot in the wrong place?heck that was 100.00 co pay,  now is the surgery very much of a problem

Answer
Mitch,

The "right place" to give a shot can be controversial. There is no test that can tell you exactly where the symptoms are coming from and hence where to place an injection. It often comes down to the best judgment of the clinician and some trail/error. So just because you got a different second opinion does not mean the first MD did anything wrong. It is a matter of clinical judgment.

Cx surgery can be effective but it does not always improve symptoms. Long term outcomes are also questionable. It is a difficult decision and one that only you can make. Find out all the pros and cons and make the decision that works best for you. Do not be afraid of getting several opinion.
