QuestionWhat exercises can I do to help with this problem?
My inner groin/hip snaps in and out of place when I get up from sitting or crouching. I am 50 years old, not overweight.
AnswerHi Ronda
My rule of thumb in all cases is that if something is not right with your body, go see a doctor. Unfortunately, I am not a doctor and cannot diagnose but here are my thoughts.
You aren't clear whether you feel this in a bone or a muscle or if you feel pain when this happens. I know that sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between bone and muscle, but a bone subluxation (dislocation) would hurt like hell and you'd not be able to walk. If it's a muscle you might feel a pop and may be in some pain, but you won't be paralyzed as if a bone went out of joint.
If you have had an injury, such as falling, or over exercising the pain could be due to that. Try heat on it.
The best thing you can do is see your primary doctor and get an X ray to see if something doesn't look right. If you have a plan that allows you to go right to an orthopedist, I'd start there, the orthopedist can tell if you have bone or muscle problems and then take it from there.
Best of luck to you
