I broke my hip 2 months ago and had 3 screws put in the femoral head. I would like to know what the recovery time is for example I am a mail carrier and am out of work when could I think about going back to full duty?  And I am an athlete mainly a biker/ runner..tri.etc. what should I being doing to regain walking and strength etc..what say would be the time frame for riding my bike?

Hi Michelle

These are questions that you need to address with your orthopedist.  Unfortunately I don't have expertise in the area that you are asking about.  I know that with hip replacements the recovery time is about 3-6 months to resume to full activities with some restrictions.

Because you are so active, you will need to get advice from your doctor and physical therapist.
